What is the biggest contributor to climate change? And what are the effects of climate change - why should we care?

"As greenhouse gas emissions blanket the Earth, they trap the sun’s heat. This leads to global warming and climate change. The world is now warming faster than at any point in recorded history. Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth (1)." Generating power, manufacturing goods, cutting down forests, using transportation, producing food, powering buildings, and consuming too much all contribute to CO2 emissions. Climate change then results in higher temperatures, more severe storms, increased drought, a warmer ocean, loss of species, more health risks, and increased poverty.
